Head of Group Strategy, Innovation and Sustainability, OCBC
Ms Elaine Heng is OCBC’s Head of Group Strategy, Innovation and Sustainability. She has oversight of the Group Strategic Planning Office and Group Sustainability led by the Chief Sustainability Officer. Group Strategy Planning Office executes OCBC’s Corporate Strategy. Group Sustainability drives OCBC’s sustainability agenda and the transition to a Net Zero economy on both the lending and wealth management fronts. On top of these responsibilities, Ms Heng leads the charge to future-proof the businesses by maximising new growth engines and emerging trends, and bring to fruition cutting edge business deals and models across the Group.
Prior to joining OCBC, Ms Heng managed different banking functions across the region and ran the largest retail group in Singapore. Elaine spent close to 20 years in banking, 15 of which were at Standard Chartered Bank. She worked closely with the Group CEO in London in managing the business during the global financial crisis. She has in-depth banking knowledge and experiences gained from driving consumer banking, SME banking and digital banking, and managing strategic planning and talent management. As the CEO of Retail Business and the Deputy Group CEO at Singapore’s FairPrice Group, she spearheaded innovative practices and business transformation. She also championed several pioneering digital and community initiatives.
She also sits on the Lee Kong Chian School of Business (Singapore Management University) Advisory Board.
